As the name suggests, Glamping is the fun, adventure and excitement of camping but with a little more comfort and convenience. No need to pitch or strike tents in darkness, late at night.

Designed and constructed on the island of Islay to suit the environment and climate of the Scottish Islands, these pods are unique in the world of ‘Glamping’ – Glamorous Camping. On the same principle as a boat they are constructed in fibreglass with timber finishings to ensure a robust, but attractive comfortable accomodation.

Corra Ghritheach

Uist Stormpods are more than just a place to sleep! They are comfortable, attractive havens of peace and relaxation.

Situated in Lochboisdale on our croft, the pods overlook the loch towards South Lochboisdale in a secluded and scenic location, but just a short walk from the village.

Although the pods are of different design, each has sleeping arrangements for up to four people, a kitchen area, a bathroom and a sitting area. They are well equipped, allowing you to come with minimal luggage.

The pods are named after seabirds often seen at the lochside in front of the pods. The ‘Corra-ghritheach’ (Heron) has a double bed and a fold down futon which can sleep two people. The ‘Brìdean’ (Oyster-catcher) has 2 bunkbeds and a futon. Each pod has

  • a wet room with a chemical toilet and shower

  • kitchen area with a sink, fridge, microwave with oven and grill facility

  • barbecue for outdoor cooking

  • bedding, crockery and cutlery provided

  • patio decking

  • parking space

  • local information pack

We are happy for people to bring their pet but ask that you respect other visitors by keeping it under control, and also be aware of the livestock on the croft. There is a small charge for pets.

For anyone who forgets to bring a towel or other toiletries, these can be made available for a small charge. There are also pay shower facilities in Lochboisdale.

The pods are situated on our croft where, depending on the time of year, we keep sheep, pigs and turkeys. We also have hens and ducks. We ask that you take care near the animals and please ensure that you close all relevant gates after you.

We do our best to ensure that your stay is as pleasant and trouble free as possible and we appreciate your feedback.

The Corra Griathach has a double bedroom and a foldown sofa in the main area.

The pods are nestled into the small hillside with Beinn Coinneach (Ben Kenneth) the large hill which guards the mouth of LochBoisdale in the background
